Calculators that turn prices into decisions.

Each calculator starts from published prices and survey figures, shows every input with its source and year, and keeps your own numbers in the page address so a result can be shared or bookmarked.

The calculators.

Physician vacancy and recruitment cost calculator

Pick a specialty, how long the position stays open, and how you plan to fill it. It lines up the revenue the empty schedule does not earn, locum cover, an agency fee range and board spend, route by route.

What it works from

  • Revenue per physician by specialty from a published survey of hospitals, shown as an estimate with its publisher and year
  • Locum hourly pay ranges and agency fee ranges as their publishers state them
  • First-year pay from the federal pay survey, or the offer you enter
  • Posting prices from the job board directory

Patient acquisition cost and marketing budget calculator

Enter what you spend in a month, how many new patients arrive, and what a patient is worth over the years they stay. It shows the cost of each new patient, the return on that spend and where it breaks even.

What it works from

  • Your own spend, visit and revenue figures, kept in the page address so a result can be shared
  • An optional paid search mode with a healthcare cost-per-click benchmark, cited with its publisher and year

Job posting cost comparison

Choose a specialty, how many openings, how long they should run and whether you need CV access. It shows what each job board in the directory charges for that order, side by side.

What it works from

  • Posting prices, durations and CV database fees from the job board directory, each with its verified date

Where the inputs come from.

A calculator is only as honest as its constants. Every number a calculator brings to the page (a revenue figure, a day rate, a fee range, a posting price, a cost-per-click benchmark) lives in a data file with the page it came from, the day it was read, and whether it could be confirmed.

Ranges, not false precision

Survey figures such as revenue per physician or locum day rates vary by region, practice and year. They are shown as the range their publisher gives, with the publisher and the year, and the calculator says so beside the result.

Your figures stay yours to share

What you type is used to work out the result on the page. The inputs are written into the page address, so the result can be bookmarked or sent to a colleague; nothing you enter is added to the site’s data.

Prices from the directory

The job posting comparison and the board spend in the recruitment calculator read the same prices as the job board directory, so a price corrected there is corrected everywhere.
